Bye Bye January-Blues

Happy Sunday, Friends! Hope you’re all having a great start to 2016!

Blogging has taking a backseat for me for a few weeks. I’ve been busy back at work after the holidays and we’ve been working on some big home projects that I’m so excited to share with you on TheSummerWife.com soon. (We’ve been painting!)

First week of January, we packed up our tree, took down the lights, and moved the furniture back to its rightful place. Why is it that putting away Christmas decor is always so sad?

The house always feels so empty in January. However, I can’t help feeling there is also a ‘clean’ feeling; “A place for everything, and everything in its place” feeling.

My January decor is a little winter (even though Texas has hardly felt winter this year) and a little rustic.

Extra large acorn was a super great find at Crate & Barrel Outlet before the holidays. It was originally around $20 and on sale for about $2.00. I’m already excited to use it next fall as well.

My mother-in-law gave me the little, white, metal basket for Christmas. It’s from the Magnolia Silos! I was so excited and filled it with pinecones right away.

My hope for January is that it is a calm month; a month to sit by the fire, curled under a blanket. I think our decor gives off that feeling.

So say goodbye to those January-blues and hello to a new year! I hope these little touches of the outdoors and yarn pom-poms inspire you as you re-create your home decor for 2016.
