Just Add Paint

You can, you should, and if you’re brave enough to start, you will. -Stephen King

For months you have heard me blog about my BIG plans for our dining room.

Well, a few weeks ago we finally made the BIG decision on a paint color and were brave enough to give it a go.

The winner was a paint color called High Speed Access by Behr. All were shades of gray, but the reason we chose High Speed Access was for the hint of blue that came through.

Although I have painted furniture, this was our first attempt at painting a room and, all things considered, the room came out pretty great!

Here are a few pictures of the room during the painting process.

Good thing Greg is tall! This shorty was great at edging the base boards.

And here are a few pictures of the before and after.

After painting the room, and moving the furniture back in, I was no longer in love with the duck egg blue inside the china cabinet against the wall color. So, out came the Old White Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and I got to work re-painting the back of the china cabinet. I learned that small changes after painting big walls might be necessary and that’s okay! I still feel that an accent color might be fun inside the china cabinet, but this was a quick fix until I decide what shade that might be.

Hope you enjoyed viewing our new & improved dining room as much as we do! It’s ready for our Super Bowl party next weekend too. I am so excited to continue working on our wall decor, curtains and getting some floating shelves for above Greg’s bar (image of bar not shown in this post) – will share on the blog soon. Happy Sunday!
