Nothing makes me smile more than typing this word. Summer.

Yes, that’s right! I’m back! The Summer Wife has completed another year in the classroom and as of last Friday sweet summertime is now upon us.

Although I had the best of intentions on keeping you up-to-date with my home decor projects during the school year, the month of May in ‘teacher-world’ gets very busy! My May was filled with field trips, Field Day, report cards and celebrating my 5th graders as they get ready to take on middle school next fall. I really enjoyed teaching 5th grade this year. If you haven’t followed my previous posts, I have taught 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade and now 5th grade over the past eight years in the classroom. Teaching 5th grade was full of learning, challenges and all of that hard work poured into each kiddo was so rewarding. I am so excited to see them blossom in middle school – they are ready!

So, what are my BIG ‘summer wife’ plans?

Well, other than going to to gym, the pool, and a few weekend getaways, I am so excited to continue to share my home decor and DIY projects with you all summer long! And, thesummerwife.com is getting a new-look this summer too. Later this week I’m sharing how my $15 dollar Canton chair turned out (remember this old, brown thing?) and oh, so much more!
