Oh so Clean & Fresh!

Each summer I try to take on one BIG home improvement project & one school project. I figure since I’m given this wonderful gift of time in the summer, I might as well put it to good use.

Last summer, I painted my beloved china cabinet. A piece I still LOVE to look at every day.

This summer, though, I had plans for our laundry room. Let me start by saying that I love the fact that we even have a laundry room. It’s not in a closet, or in a basement. It’s a pretty good size and it even has a closet for more storage. Our laundry room is a great space, but it just needed a little TLC.

Laundry room lighting not the best for pictures.

So I decided on a color by BEHR called Porpoise. I mean, did you really think I was going to pick a bright color? 🙂 I also repainted the built-in shelf bright white. A fresh coat of paint in clean colors was all this room needed. Isn’t it darling?

The rug and ‘laundry room’ sign from Hobby Lobby might be my favorite parts of the whole space. I found a few other laundry printables that I hope to add and share with you soon!

Here is the shelf I mentioned before & after (bottom right):

This is the first room I see when I walk through the garage into the house each day and seeing it clean & fresh makes me so happy! Plus, I’m hoping the cute-ness of our laundry room will make laundry more enjoyable during school year. Right?!

I think it’s so important to remember that sometimes a space can be completely transformed with a just a little paint. Even though I sit on Pinterest for hours and pin laundry rooms that have beautiful chandeliers and cabinets above the washer & dryer, I know that a cost effective way to get that ‘look’ that we all desire only takes some time and a little paint.

Thanks for stopping by the blog to check out our cute, new space!
