Summer S(eas): Netflix & Amazon Prime Edition

One of the things summer wife has more time during for during the summer months is ‘binge’ watching TV shows. I have to be honest though, my definition of ‘binge’ watching is usually only 1 episode or 2… for some reason, I just cannot bring myself to watch more than 2-3 in a row without feeling like a big ol’ waste. It’s probably the ‘teacher’ in me!

I’d love to share with you a few of my must-see shows on Netflix & Amazon Prime. Whether you are a ‘summer wife’ yourself or want to make the most of those extra daylight hours this summer, add these shows to your list!

The Great British Baking Show

Great British Baking Show

My mother-in-law had me hooked on this show from the start! All of the contestants are so polite and the ‘tent’ is filled with the prettiest pastels you’ve ever seen. You’ll love this show because it’s simply ‘scrummy’ (as Mary Berry would say)!

The Crown

I love reading historical fiction and am one of the many American women fascinated with the royal family. This show is the perfect blend of royal history and drama.

Bloodline

Greg & I watch Bloodline together. This show is in its 4th and final season, but it is so good. It tells the story of a family who looks ‘perfect’ and like they have it all together on the outside, but things turn south quickly. This show is a little ‘dark’, but worth the watch!

Master of None

Master-of-None

Two things you should know about me if you do not already… I love Amy Poehler and Parks & Rec is one of my favorite shows! So when Aziz Ansari (Tom Haverford from Parks & Recreation) starred in and created his own show Master of None, Greg & I knew we had to watch. Master of None is definitely not Parks & Rec humor, but it’s a quirky show that pokes fun at the way we all live in this technological age — its witty and supposedly loosely based on Ansari’s real-life experiences.

How to Get Away with Murder

If you are a Scandal fan, you will surely love How to Get Away with Murder. We haven’t finished watching the most recent season, so please, no spoilers! šŸ™‚

Z: The Beginning of Everything

Who doesn’t love the book The Great Gatsby – a classic love story and one of my all-time favorite stories. This show highlights the woman behind the famous F. Scott Fitzgerald. This show is only in its first season, but I cannot wait for it to come back! #girlpower

So many of these shows I watch with the hubs, so waiting for him to get home from work to watch another episode can be the worst … Any ‘girly’ shows I should watch during the day this summer? I’d love some great recommendations!

Have a great evening, sweet friends!

  1. Loved the Crown! Master of None left me mad because it ended so abruptly, I want more! I’m always looking for new shows to watch so I’ll be sure to check out Z.
